Because of Mr. Terupt: Pages 215-end

Great job on your posts, everyone. I am continually blown away by the amount of effort you put into this assignment. This week is our last blog response, which means you will be finishing the book. I hope everyone will make this last response their best one ever. As always, choose one question to answer and check the rubric to ensure you get full points for your work! Question #1: Who was your favorite character in the book and why? How did this character change and grow throughout the year? What virtue would you say this character demonstrates the most and why? Question #2: Of the seven point-of-view characters, whose narrative do you find the most informative or interesting? Why? What virtue does this character demonstrate the most? (Remember to provide evidence from the text)

I'm seeing a lot of fantastic posts and a lot of improvement in your writing since the first blog question. Don't forget to check the rubric to make sure you get full credit for your response. If you can't see an example of a virtue to mention in the section, describe how people don't use a certain virtue in their actions. As always, choose one of the two questions to answer in a concise, well-developed paragraph and respond to at least two other bloggers. Keep up the great work everyone! Question #1 Mr. Terupt brings several different groups of people together, even while in a coma. How does this happen, and who is affected? What virtues do these characters show when interacting with each other since the accident? Question #2 How have people been treating Peter since the accident? Do you think this treatment is deserved? Hello 6th Grade Advising! Amazing job on last week's response. I'm so happy to see such in depth thoughts and well developed ideas. You will have your choice of answering one of two questions this week. Remember to answer all parts of the question you choose, use text evidence, and check the syllabus to make sure you are getting full credit for your response. Question #1 Describe Mr. Terupt. What makes him a dynamic person? Is he the type of teacher you would want? Why or why not? What makes being a student in his class challenging? What are the advantages and disadvantages to being taught in such a manner? Question #2 Describe Peter's and Lexi's actions throughout the course of the year so far. Do you think these actions are harmful or just an example of kids being kids; why? Do you think either of them will change in any significant way and do you think either of them should  change? Why? Keep up the great work everyone!

Because of Mr. Terupt: Pages 1-47

Welcome back to the blog, 6th grade advising! Over the next two months we will be reading the book Because of Mr. Terupt  by Rob Buyea. In this first section of the book we are introduced to the seven main characters (Peter, Jessica, Luke, Alexia, Jeffrey, Danielle, and Anna) and their teacher, Mr. Terupt. Which of these characters would you like to have as a friend, and why? Remember to use specific evidence from the text to explain your answer in a concise and focused 6-8 sentence paragraph. Once you have posted your response, be sure to comment on at least two posts from your fellow 6th graders in any blog on the Padlet. Don't forget to mention a BFCCPS character trait (justice, fortitude, prudence, or temperance) and use proper spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Have fun blogging! I can't wait to read your thoughts!
